Welcome to HAH Brass Studios!

I offer private lessons for all brass instruments, both in-person and virtual, for beginner, intermediate, and advanced students.

My goal is to create a welcoming, safe, fun, and rigorous environment for students to develop as musicians, people, and life-long learners.

About Me

Mr. H. A. Hoffman

Hello! My name is H. A. Hoffman.

In 2019, I started a private lesson studio in the Tri-Cities and have been teaching beginners, intermediate, and advanced students since. Through the beginning stages, I was a high school band director but have since transitioned to teaching privately full time!

My students have gone on to perform at the top of their ensembles and have participated in groups such as the Tennessee All-East and All-State honor bands; several world-class drum and bugle corps including Spirit of Atlanta, Carolina Crown, Music City, Boston Crusaders, and Phantom Regiment; and the Parris Island Marine Band. Many have also continued playing through college, earning scholarships to play in their respective ensembles.

I received my Master of Music degree in Performance from Middle Tennessee State University and my Bachelor of Music degrees in Music Education and Instrumental Performance from Western Carolina University.

Outside of teaching, I am always working to refine my playing. As a freelancer, I have performed with several regional orchestras including Chattanooga, Huntsville, Hendersonville, Symphony of the Mountains, and as a session musician at Ocean Way Studios in Nashville.

"Mr. Hoffman has been one of RJ's most dedicated and supportive mentors throughout his journey of auditioning for the Marine Corps Band. Every Friday, he generously dedicated an hour to work with Ryan, providing him with invaluable guidance, encouragement, and motivation. Mr. Hoffman's unwavering belief in Ryan's potential and his refusal to give up on him, even during moments of occasional weirdness or goofing off, are truly commendable. I am deeply grateful for everything Mr. Hoffman has done for both of my children, particularly Ryan Jay... I felt compelled to acknowledge the exceptional support and dedication that Mr. Hoffman has shown Ryan, surpassing any other teacher. He never dismissed or abandoned Ryan, even when faced with challenging attention span and goofiness.

Jewell (daughter) will continue her lessons with Mr. Hoffman in the fall. If you are seeking the finest private brass lessons for your child, I highly recommend Mr. Hoffman. His teaching style may be demanding, but the results are worth every penny invested. HAH Brass Studios offers an unparalleled educational experience. I highly recommend!!!!!"
